| | Would you eat at Heart Attack Grill?February 17, 2012 - Lisa HoffmannThis just in: Man suffers a heart attack while eating at Heart Attack Grill in Las Vegas. While eating a burger called the Triple Bypass Burger, which has 6,000 calories, the man began sweating, shaking and couldn’t talk - apparent symptoms of a heart attack. Other patients apparently thought he was “faking it” and began taking pictures! The restaurant has a hospital theme, but employees and the owner are not trained nurses or doctors. (Nurses take prescriptions from the patients. A wristband shows the food the patient ordered, and a doctor examines the patients with a stethoscope). Patients wear surgical gowns while ordering menu items which include triple and quadruple bypass burgers and flatliner fries cooked in pure lard. Drinks range from buttermilk shakes to soda made with real sugar. Alcoholic drinks are also available. Dessert includes candy cigarettes. Those who weigh in over 350 pounds eat free. Founded in 2005, critics want the owner to shut down and declare “mortal bankruptcy” following the incident. The man is reported to have lived through the incident. Something like this makes you ask yourself if you would eat at this restaurant and risk your health for a calorie and fat loaded burger, fries and drink. The meal may cause you to have a heart attack. Hey, there is even a warning on the door that says eating here “could be hazardous to your health.” As for me, I am undecided on whether I would eat there. I actually wonder if it's all that different than any fast food joint? | in: News, Blogs & Events Web |
