| | A New Year’s wishDecember 27, 2011 - Angie DuboseWhat do you wish for in the new year? Health, wealth, time, rest, losing a few pounds, more trips, less bills, more time with family, less time at work, retirement, your friends are still standing by you, or ? You supply the wish that best suits you. Well, 2011 will soon be a memory and 2012 is right upon the horizon. And yes, it is a time to reflect on the past year and try to come to terms with the new year. Do you have new year’s resolutions that you want to try to carry through in 2012? Are you satisfied with those resolutions or are you just wanting the new year to come and go? My motto is “try your best in 2012 and let go of all the rest.” It all will fall into place. I am not perfect nor do I want to be, so no matter how hard I try I never will be perfect and without fault. I can only do what is my best and then the other stuff will fall into place. This coming year that is what I plan to do, “Try My Best” in all things and let the rest fall into place. What new adventures will I have this year? Where will this old life take me? What new challenges will I be faced with in the coming months? What will happen to me that will please me or displease me? Will I be excited in the coming months? Will I have good health? Wealth? Will I spend more time with my family? Will there be more work to do? or less? Will there be situations that come into my life that will surprise me? Will there be situations that come that will make me sad, glad, mad? Or will I just try to get through the year and let it pass me by. We should look at the new year as a new time in our life. We should thank God for another year. We should be glad that we have reasonable good health, enough to eat, a warm bed, clothes on our backs, a job, enough money to live, family that loves us no matter what, a companion whether it be a good hunting dog or a mate, and a another birthday. Birthdays for me are getting to be a treasure. I have made 58 of them and every one is a blessing. So this year as you reflect on your life and where it is going? Try my motto, do your best in all things. Give God the glory for the blessings that He has bestowed on you. Thank a family member for sticking by you in sickness and health. Tell a friend how much she/he means to you. Give your children and grandchildren a hug and a kiss and tell them how you really feel about them! There is nothing more special than to hug the heck out of your grown son/daughter. I know because I have two sons and I can give some pretty good hugs. Love your grandchildren, they are a special blessing. And above all give God the glory for the things He has done for you. Happy New Year to all of you.
